Similar issue, same park
I specifically drafted NY_N stadium for its supposed "reluctance" in giving up the longball, especially to RH batters.
Well, all but one of my starting pitchers are also giving up the longball at a rate quite a bit higher than their MLB rate. I took a look at the team in B8 at the same park, and their pitchers are doing the same, and it's not just "some" of the starting pitchers - it's each and every one.
Here are the HR/IP rates :
B8 MLB
Hitchcock - 52/170 29/205
Witasick - 15/50 23/158
Olivares - 22/161 19/205
Reynoso - 25/128 20/167
Leiber - 25/178 28/203
2000RT1 MLB
Castillo - 9/69 18/132
Maddux - 11/110 19/244
Reed - 20/82 27/174
Reynoso - 13/62 21/161
Tapani - 31/96 35/195
Out of these 10 SP's, only Castillo in 2000RT1 is having an "average" season. Leiber is "OK" in B8, but every other SP is WELL above "expectations".
Truth be told, this may not be too abnormal, as I haven't gone and looked at any other leagues or any other parks. I just know from my own home-game frustrations that I was seeing the same things.
As an aside, my hitters are on both sides of the fence as far as longballs. I have a couple guys over their "rate", a few below, and the balance are right around "correct".
Obviously, I'm only looking at my squad, and it's not even at the halfway point of the season, so I'm not making any real statistical accusations, but I thought it was interesting that someone else was sharing in my "misery".
