i set the manager options to aggressive and
all 5 starters roles are set to rotation.

one idea tha ti have thought of off the top of my head is this.
list a 4 man rotation.{set roles=rotation}
send awawy instructions this way.
game 1: list starters role as a reliever.
example {k.brown- short relief} he starts game 1.
the other 4 away games send away instructions with
the other 4 starters roles set to rotation.
example:r.johnson-d.neagle-f.garcia and d.dreifort.
that leaves me 7 other reliever for the computer
manager to select from.
and i have a better chance to keep mt no.1
pitcher always starting in game no.1 of a series.

a couple possible problems;
the computer manager uses my game 1 starter in
1.relief in games 4 or 5 if rested.
2.away manager wont use my game 1 instructions
to start a reliever and select next available.

one problem is its late in the season {20 games
left}.and my team cant afford to lose any
games by messing up my rotation experimenting.
if anyone has any ideas or can find more faults
to my idea ,feel free to list them.

as i mentioned earlier: 5 starters role set to
rotation. 7 rested relievers to start the series.
options set to bullpen " aggressive."
all settings were double checked before series.
in my opinion the computer manager may need
fine tuned or more bullpen-starter options made
available.
