Unofficial Answer

Ok... I have alot of information here so bear with me.

First off, they are working on a completely new interface... so I would not expect that any more updates will be released for this one. Working around it is all we can do for now I think.

Secondly, the saving/display errors are not random. They have a predictable pattern as follows.

1. 0 0 0 0 # = # 0 0 0 0

2. 0 0 0 # 0 = 0 # 0 0 0

3. 0 0 # 0 0 = 0 0 # 0 0

4. 0 # 0 0 0 = 0 0 # 0 0

5. # 0 0 0 0 = 0 0 0 # 0

If you want to get your setting to stick try this.

step 1: pick the setting you want from the column on the right. (note that you don't have the choice of the furthest button to the right.)

step 2: use the corresponding column on the left to set your options and save.

step 3: continue with the rest of the game setup until you are done.

step 4: go back and look at your manager options for that game. it will now show the setting from the right column (the one you picked in step #1). don't touch anything, just save it again. don't go any further into the game setup. just press the link that takes you back to the schedule page.

step 5: look at the game options again. they should still be the same. they will stay the same every time you save them unless you change something. if you change something the scramble will start all over again.

I am 90% sure that this method not only appears to work... but also works within the program logic to give you the setting you want. I am a programmer and I do believe that this is more than a display problem. This opinion is based on my general knowledge of radio button objects and the logic behind them in addition to the results of numerous tests. If you don't use the methond above it is VERY LIKELY the wrong setting has been saved. However, I can't read the code so I can't be completely sure. If you don't undersand or trust this solution... here are a couple more alternatives I can think of.

Alternative #1. Set your default vs./Left/Right lineups and your default manager options and forget the individual game settings. The save and retrieve in the front office works perfect everytime. The default's also show up fine the first time you open an individual game so it's apparent that they are being recalled correctly, they just don't get saved correctly as individual game options from there onward.

Alternative #2. If you feel you must use individual linups, you can always leave the pinch hitting setting in the middle. It never changes if you leave it in the middle.

Finally, I sent an e-mail to Mark about this last night. Less than 24 hours later I got the following response.

"I am aware of the problem but have not sought to
have it fixed for two
reasons:

1. Very few people attempt to set individual
games but instead rely on the
same settign for the whole series. If you set for
whole series the system
works.

2. The whole game startup system is being
overhauled and has many problems.

I do not know frankly if the problem is a display
or a save problem but my
guess is that it is saving the wrong
setting---but it is just a guess.
Thanks for your work on this issue and I will
pass it along to the
programmer in charge of game startup."

Aside from a signature and salutation this was the response in whole.

I've satisfied my own curiosity on this subject and I believe I can work around this until the new interface comes. If anyone is looking for further information they will have to pick up the ball from here.

Cameron.
