There have also been 39 first base errors (Fullmer 31, a DH, the main culprit), 40 second base errors and !!!!74!!!! third base errors, by the likes of Salmon (18 of his 29) and Magglio Ordonez, who has 38 at that position. Total so far is 253 errors in 141 games. Still these guys are in second place, battling for a playoff spot. I'm not really whining or complaining, but I do find it interesting, and wonder about the importance of defense in the grand scheme.
