Belle at 2B?
While I agree that there are defensive improvements that can be and will made with the game, I see not great managers/teams in PB using such a strategy.
Check out Ken Wagner (C2, M7, D5), probably the most successful regular season manager in PB---he uses players by position. In fact check out the best managers in most all leagues and you will find that they don't want to give up their DPS and range at second to get Albert in the lineup.
At the same time, the use of marginal defenders like Sweeney at C is certainly within the province of major league managers past and present. During the last GREAT offensive explosion in baseball, Hack Wilson was a centerfielder. Check out what he did to the Cubs' fortunes in that greatest of all World Series comebacks by the A's...
