Based on my 2+ years of experience with Purebaseball and the speed that most changes are made with this sim, that it would go into effect for the season's starting this spring, at least not for Trad leagues based on 2000 stats (and that is "if" they decide to take up this new idea). Teams that were drafted in the PB00 Trad leagues were assuming that players who changed positions (like a Sweeney, or Zeile) would not be able to play their former positions for the 2000 based season. Many many trades and roster manuevers have been made to accomidate those position changes from some players and if this change was made mid-stream, IMO it would seriously affect the integrity of the leagues. I think that if we do make the change, it should be for the 2001 players at the earliest. Maybe the 2001 real time leagues can try it out next spring, but I don't see Trad leagues switching to something like this until the season's based on 2001 stats (played in 2002).
