I think that 2 different standards is a good idea. Maybe 50 IP to start a playoff game and 4o IP to relieve.
While the rules certainly allow for it, do we want a Lou Pote or an injured Ramon Martinez to decide who wins the Championship after 8 months of fighting it out with players who are in it for the long haul ? I don't.
