The current system favors the acquisition of players like Pote, Strawberry and Ramon Martinez for the playoff run.
This simulates the July 31 trade deadline in MLB and provides increased interest to also-rans as they can trade away their "temp monster" players for decent value.
Of course all of this will be of more value when we create a faster, easier web site that will encourage more paricipation and trading.
SIM-ball leagues are a balance between providing oportunitites for parity and providing for the "fair" winner (one using only players who WOULD play important roles in MLB playoffs).
This discussion dovetails into the long and thankfully heated discussion on SIM stats.

Do we want a SIM that we can "count" on or do we want to be challenged by a SIM that is not cut and dried---or worse---simply a replay?

Hopefully, we will soon offer the type of manager polling I've always wanted and will find out what the majority really wants.
