Wants
You ask if we want a SIM we can "count on".
I think that depends on how you define the term "count on".
We want random effects, but we want to know that when Pedro Martinez gets bombed for 9 runs it was "random chance" and not a program bug. We want to know that the unusual events like 3 hit batters in a row or 4 wild pitches in a row are truly random events and not program bugs. We want to know that PB is constantly looking at these "unusual" events and checking the program code to be sure that there is not a bad algorithm rather than feel that there are just "words" of reassurance that these strange events are due to "small sample size".
Don't get me wrong. I love the game. I just don't think it is perfect and some of the imperfections interfere with the enjoyment of the game. I think that getting the bugs out of the SIM is more important than improving the interface.
