Camaraderie

Posted By EddieL

I really think camaraderie is a key. Lots of managers don't fill out profiles, and of course we have no league chat rooms. These we can set up on our own. I tried to get one going when 98RT1 first started, but there wasn't much interest. Well, we lost some managers. And, given how easy it is to dump a team and draft in a new league, league stability is a problem. When you get even 2-3 unmanaged teams, it bogs down the league in terms of player movement. I think taking over an existing team, rather than drafting in a new league, should be a discount. Also, I see a problem of guys trying to make only trades that are one sided. My policy is to make any trade that helps me. That means if I get an offer I like, I'll negotiate just a little, and make the deal, not negotiate and then say "OK but let me shop the player first" That manager came forward, and I like getting offers, so don't jerk around, pull the trigger on it.

On a related note, Mike requires managers to complete a launch league. Many of us have friends that have experience with other games, and if we could all join a league together, we'd maybe give it a try. Perhaps if we were to get 3-5 new members to try it, we could participate in a free launch.

I also agree with the post about using the core members more. I've been approached about this, and I think it's in the works.

Great discussion!
