Real Time

Posted By EddieL

I think it's great. Starting a season with known performances just doesn't do it for me anymore. It's like manageing a real team. you don't know the injuries, you don't know the position changes until they happen. The only drawback is the advantage currently enjoyed by the players who start the season hot. Their numbers come down gradually, so a guy that hits .350 over 30 games will enjoy being over .300 for a long time, even if he slumps. If he hits .250 in his next 30 games, and theoretically is around .300, he will overproduce in PB Real Time, because the cumulative stats continue to affect the ratings. Chances are he'll hit .350 for 30 games, and still hit well over .300 the next 30. So, he ends up at .330 instead of .300. Just an example, but a weakness I've been harping on Mike and Dwight about for a while. I haven't checked for a while but the game manual used to mention 2 different equalizations, which haven't been added as yet. Other than that, I can't say enough for Real Time.
