The hot or cold starts are a point of contention which maybe could be addressed, but frankly I like the idea of trying to guess whether that guy hitting .350 through the first month of MLB is worth moving up on your draft board, or do you play for the known stud who is hitting only .220 ?

My Comment:
The guy hitting .350, and the known .220 stud, have very unrealistic values. The .350 hitter may wind up .50 below the stud at seasons end, and still outproduce him in RT. That's because the .350 start is recounted each and every week all season. So is the .220 start for the stud. If both end up equal, the .350 starter will hit maybe .75 higher, and thats a lot. Furthermore that .220 stud might not even get a chance to play until nearly the season's end when his numbers become repectable. You wont play him at .220, or probably at .250 either. But the other guy gets used at .350 and is still valuable at .280, even tho he may have gone 0 for July. I agree on your assessment of taking a chance. But There will still be those decisions with an equalization, and/or streak stats.
