Ken, did you read the post,'not the same.' that w responded to your previous message as to why there are differences in trading for potentials that might exist in future drafts.Let me put you a hypothetical.
Ensburg(sp), power hitting 3b gets called up by Houston. 2 weeks prior to the Monthly draft he is 20 abs short of being eligible for the draft. The man who MIGHT have the rights to the draft recieves an offer, looks at the prospective players, sees noone he likes and makes the trade.
Two things can happen. He gets the required abs and becomes eligible and proves to be a bargain or he sprains an ankle(who knows) and fails to be eligible.
In the second scenario the trade never, never, never, takes place.
In the first a savvy player takes a risk and is rewarded for his roll of the dice.
I understand that many of the trades I am envisioning can be accomplished after the fact, but left to your solutions, some of the ones I would like to try won't happen.
