HERE ARE THE NUMBERS--YOU BE THE JUDGE!!
I have some numbers from 2 Real Time Leagues. PB2000 RT2 Pitcher Jimmy Anderson has a PB rating of 6.5 and a clutch of 6.2. He's been effective against both right and lefthanded batters in the majors this season. His numbers for my team in PB2000 are:
Won 0 Lost 3 Started: 4 games 19.7 Innings 29 Hits; 20 Runs; 8.24 ERA with 13.27 hits per 9 innings!
Better yet how about Mike Hampton. He's on my team in PB98 RT1 His PB rating is 7.3 and a clutch rating of 9.0! His numbers in PB98 are:
Wone 1 Lost 1 Started: 3 games 19.0 Innings 29 hits; 19 runs; 7.11 ERA with 13.74 hits per 9 innings!!!
Pretty close to their major league performance. YEAH RIGHT!!
That is downright ridiculous. Not even close in either case. AND BOTH PITCHERS ARE IN SO CALLED PITCHER BALLPARKS AS THEIR HOME TEAMS.
There just has to be some sort of problem with the formulas used to arrive at those kinds of conclusive numbers. You could stack the lineup anyway you wanted to against these guys in the majors and they ain't goin put up those kinda numbers pal. "And that's the name of that tune"
