Game Crash- Error Message

Has anyone had a game crash giving this error
message ?
MFC42.DLL
the searched showed me it's a WINDOWS\SYSTEM file.
Description under properties reads:
Microsoft - MFCDLL Shared library- retail version.
Any ideas ?
