Personally, I like the chance that you have to contend with a player like Batista getting switched from SS to 3B and messing up your plans. Batista is also on a team of mine and I really wanted him at SS - much more valuable there than 3B.

Now that Baltimore has picked him up on waivers, perhaps he'll again be a SS which may even improve his hitting - who knows.

Adjusting to the day to day changes adds to the interest in the RT version of the game. If you used 2 year averages, you'd make the game more like the TRAD version - and less interesting.
