TRADES

Posted By Patrick

It is my feeling that trades should be equitable but they don't necessarily have to be balanced. This means that BOTH owners need to feel the trade is of benefit to them, that the trade leaves them better off than before. Sometimes that is hard for the other manager in a deal to see and needs it brought to light. Various owners have different ideas of what the value of a First-Round Rookie pick is or a Second-Round Free Agent. Even when assigned a PB value there will be debate over the "real" merit of a player. So I would like to apoligize to anyone I may have offended with my trade offers...that clearly is not a basis for good ownership. Maybe most of us by this point have received lop-sided offers from other owners that have rubbed us the wrong way. At the same time I know that I have received many solid offers and offered the same. Ignoring the bad offers or ridiculing them can not help the situation. Maybe we can all work from the middle out instead of the other way around. Is it possible? Just a thought!
