Whats wrong with people????
There seem to be many teams, PAID teams, which are being neglected. Why would anyone go into any series with overused and worn out players? How tough is it to make a couple of roster moves, and maybe set some default lineups?
Is it because people have too many teams to care about the ones that are struggling? Lots of losing teams seem to be abandoned, too, with the manager joining a new league for a fresh start.
I'd like to suggest that we all consider some loyalty to our teams...there is a lot of pride in bringing a team back from adversity, and it really isn't that hard to do.
Some of the leagues appear very lacking in energy, yet there are some great managers here in PB. I know everyone has their own approach. Some like to trade, some don't. Still, Mike has it set up so that it takes almost no effort to maintain a team. Why are some managers just ignoring it?
This hobby is as good as WE make it. Sure, we have complaints at times, but the fact is, we CAN help this game grow. If I join a league and the managers get along, treat each other fairly, are active and competitive, I'll be impressed. If a new manager joins a league and it's boring, quiet, and opponents are unmanaged or the players are used up, he'll very likely to lose interest.
I know there's a core of die-hards here. I suggest to those people that we make an effort to not just keep up ALL our teams, but to watch for neglected teams, email the managers, email the commish, and try to correct things. I also think updating our team news is a great idea. I'll start doing this every few days, even if it's just to say hello.
Any thoughts?
