Gotta agree with Brian, but...
Gents,
Gotta go with Brian on this one. Home teams, proven arguably better over 160, would prevail more than 50% in real life. Obviously, the deck is slightly stacked towards the visitors. I do have a couple of ideas of where a small portion this bias comes. Some managers are not as good as the robot. I know that will be impossible to believe in some quarters; my own experience is that it took me two launch leagues and half a season to learn how not to over manage the hitters, and under manage the pitchers. I do a much better job at home now than I used to do.
Second, I just lost the opening round of a playoff game due to my computer at work locking up at an inopertune moment (Up 1-0, 2 out, top of seven). Per the manual (which I understand, do not argue, yet am unhappy about), I was given a forced loss in game one. I lost a tough one in Game two. I won 113 with this team this year, and fully expected to take this team all the way. But being down 2-0, going to his ballpark, I figured I would be lucky to play another game with that team this year. So it was with much surprise that I discovered that while he won the first two in my house, that I SWEPT him at his home. Home teams in that league are 7-9 so far.
Brian, thanks for the info; you are helping to confirm in my mind something that I always expected.
