I'll play home anyday

You can add me to the list that will never be convinced that there is an away advantage. From my personal experience, I don't see it happening. I'm one of those guys that sets my best lineup for away games. Playing home games gives the opportunity to rest players and conserve quality innings/AB's so my road teams are always my A team. That being said, in all the years I've played I rarely have a better road record. Good teams, bad teams, it doesn't matter. I can only wish the robot played as well as I do at home. This isn't based on small sample playoff games, it's based on several years, several leagues, with me giving the away team the better opportunity to win. If there was an additional "mystery" away variable, the results would be different.

I realize that some think that the human manager is so much better than the dumb robot that an away advantage is required to provide balance, but I don't believe it.

I believe what we've been told. It's a simple percentage matchup based on player stats and ratings. Park effects and defense are factored in, but it's basically:

Batter A faces Pitcher B = results

It doesn't matter if the batter is home or away, the matchup is solely statistical. To assume that an additional variable has been added to recognize home/away and then give the robot the advantage would compromise the whole statistical integrity of the matchup. I don't believe it, and I don't see anything that convinces me that this additional variable exists.
