The truth about Purebaseball where Telescan is concerned

Posted By Tim A

There are many aspects about the way the Purebaseball business is run that are far from optimal.

However, in response to the recent gloom and doom messages stating that Telescan is about to close up the shop I remind you of the following-- Telescan is no longer in the loop. Telescan did decide to abandon the Purebaseball project..... more than a year ago. At that time Mike Bravard and an unnamed group of investors bought the rights to the game from Telescan and have been running it on their own (probably with limited resources) since that time.

Now at this point I'm speculating
{Begin Speculation}
I suspect that a certain portion of the revenues generated since that time go to helping the investors recoup their money... and a certain other percentage goes to pay for continuing support. I do believe that the technical people are working after hours and have another full time job.... because there is not enough money in the TECH aspects of this game to make a living right now. My suspicion is probably the only person working at this full time but I could be wrong.
(End Speculation)

I do think they will keep it going as long as possible but admit that as things get slower and slower its easier to believe the gloom and doom stories. But I have to bellieve it will last longer as long as people are still willing to pay.

I hope this discussion has been informative.

P.S. In response to the rookie draft order inquiries.... my recollection of the last two years is that the order is announced sometime in the first week of January with drafts to follow the last week of February or the first week of March.
