Pitcher Problems

Posted By RickO

That "pitcher switcheroo" has happened to me several times. I hear it's a bug. It usually happens when your opponent's chosen starter is unable to go, due to injury or overuse. You can reduce your chances of being bitten by checking out your opponent's status page. I start each game by trying to predict my opponent's starter (look at their days rest, previous series rotation...). Usually it comes down to a couple of guys. Sometimes, one of the candidates is overused or injured. If so, then no problem; the robot will choose the other guy. If they're both able, then it's a little more difficult to handle.

If they're both righties, that's not such a big deal. If they're of different hands, then you really are at their mercy. Not a great spot to be in, I admit, and I don't know how to beat that one...

As for the "Ace" question, I believe that if you designate your pitcher as "Ace", the robot will yank him EARLIER THAN NORMAL, in order to allow him to pitch sooner, say, on three days' rest. Perhaps you should try designating him as regular "Rotation"...

Hope this helps. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys...
