My interesting Teams

Posted By T. Alt

My Lafayette Leopards (99T2) will send out the following to defend the championship and earn a 4th consecutive division title.

C: Posada
IF: Konerko, Alomar, Arod, Chipper
OF: Edmonds/Paquette, Griffey/Kapler, Abreu/Sierra

SP: Morris, Wood, Glavine, Colon
Long Relief / Spot Starter: Joe Kennedy / Arrojo
Short / Middle Relief: Nen, Hoffman, Nunez, Groom, Wallace

Pen is weaker than in past years and 1B is down (I had Frank Thomas in the middle of the lineup the last two years). However, this is my best year for the rotation and the outfield.

-------------------------------

My K15 Lafayette Legends have won a wild card and finished behind the California Crush every year since I joined the league, but did win a championship two years ago on lots of offense and the arms of Smoltz and Millwood. The 2002 version is again short on pitching because I traded a bunch of them last year to finally shore up the catcher position.

C: Piazza / Lieberthal
IF: Bagwell, Kent, Jimenez/Renteria, Glauss
OF: Chipper Jones, Griffey / Cordova, Nixon / Sierra
DH: B. Giles / Piazza or M. Giles

SP: Morris, Hentgen/Smoltz, Carpenter, Lawrence/Garland.
(extra starters = Millwood, Astacio, Tollberg)
RP: Kim, Nelson, Shuey, DeJean, M. Mathews, Moreno

Interesting acquisition notes.... acquired Griffey, Glauss, and a FA #1 for S. Green, and the pick which got Pujols.

Team had no viable catcher the first two years I had them.... Nilsson was the man the year I won. I traded Kerry Wood last year to get Lieberthal. Then when that blew up in my face I traded Wade Miller and Mark Mulder for Mike Piazza. So I finally have the catcher production.... but would I have been better off with the pitchers?

Before that debacle I traded Kile and Lieber two years ago for Hampton and Carpenter and then turned Hampton into Millwood. I won the league that year but I sure wish I had Kile and Lieber now instead of Millwood.
