I think play among established major leaguers and also among guys who have had a good year or two is as erratic this April as I've ever seen it.
There are always guys who come from nowhere to dazzle in April, but I don't remember so many of the established players either performing way over their heads or so completely bad in the first month.
Probably that helps explain Pittsburg, Cincy and Montreal contending and all three probable contenders in the NL Central, for example, being in the tank.
