Rants Don't Help
While I've enjoyed competing against Doug and have sent him an email saying I'm sorry to see him go, much of the frustration that came out in his post is unfounded, though some has basis.
I don't understand what the problem is with the Launch Leagues, but it's keeping me from getting at least one friend who's very interested in our games to start in Pure Baseball. I know others who are in Roto leagues whom I would invite in if Launch Leagues were working. If I were in a stalled launch league, I would also be extremely hot.
On the other hand, I've been in the game for about four years now, and it's great. I also have been involved in some deals Mike overruled. I haven't agreed with him at times, but he has never been unreasonable.
Doug, on the other hand, in my experience with him, would simply go off when any deal was questioned. Any system of approving trades is inherently subjective, at least to some degree.
I've generally been able to work out a way for a deal to be approved, and often just a calm, rational email from each owner gets the matter resolved.
I'm convinced Mike is doing the best he can under trying circumstances. I hate to see any owner go, especially Doug, since I have enjoyed competing with him.
Nevertheless, there's too much that's good about the game to simply blow up.
