Re: Problem Is

Ralph,

I don't know how technically inclined you are, but this all is a lot harder than it may appear. I tried to run a basketball simulation a few years back that someone else had originally written the program for. I thought as long as the creator of the simulation showed me the ropes, I could take over and the transition would be fairly seamless. It worked pretty well for the first couple years, but when I lost contact with him and discovered a problem I had never seen before (in the playoffs) that pretty much killed the business.
As a consumer, I haven't been that impressed with the service based on the stories I have heard (mostly from reading this board). I personally have never had a problem with Mike. As a person that was once in his position, I can relate to where he is at. He probably needs to communicate more or his customer base is going to continue to dwindle. If we have problems with the playoffs. I will be gone at that time as well.
Mike has a post from sometime in May that says these are just the bumpy times and those who stick around will be glad they did. I hope he is right, but if Dwight is gone and the playoffs never come to fruition, I will feel cheated if any of my teams qualify for the post season and there is no resolution to that particular league. Of course we haven't gotten to that point yet.
To say the least, if it is true that Dwight is gone, I am disconcerted that this was not communicated to us as paying clients. I will see how the season plays out, but I am definately on the bubble as to whether or not I will continue beyond this season, which is too bad because I have one team that basically tore down and would love to see if I can take a young team to the post season.
I hope more people take the opportunity to express their opinions about the direction PB is headed. I think if nothing else Mike needs to hear them.
I hope what was said here wasn't taken as mean spirited criticism, but rather concern from someone who would like to see this succeed. I usually don't vocalize like this, but my concern is growing if for no other reason than the fact that there are so many unowned teams. I hope the future is brighter for this game than I may be perceiving it at this time.

Game On (Hopefully)
Marshall
