True, but...
What you say is true, but I still think you are being somewhat harsh. Take a look at the forums over the past 3 months or so and pick out 1 rah-rah message. There hasn't been any. Most of the posts have been doom and gloom for ages. If you look, there are no responses saying "shut up or go away" because most people here (including myself) know that problems exist. I'm not going to jump into a thread and tell someone to shut up when they voice a legitimate concern - I'm not wearing rose coloured glasses. I fully understand the state PB is currently in, but that shouldn't mean that we can't encourage Mike towards success.
As I stated, I don't think anyone here or in this thread has said "The game is great just the way it is" - what we are saying is "we understand your situation Mike, we love the game, we support you, please continue keeping PB running and working on a solution" There is a difference.
I can assure you Mike has probably receive more than one idiotic letter from some dolt owner like the one a few threads below this - and it is discouraging. Why can't we show Mike that people still are enjoying the game, and are behind him?
I highly doubt that by reading these posts that Mike is going to turn around and think "oh good, look at those threads, yes, everything is fine with PB and I dont have to do anything now." I think he knows and understands what needs to be done.
I'm not sure if you see what I'm trying to say here... and it is most likely my fault for not being able to express what I mean through this medium. Yes, I have issues with the game, like not being able to put a DH into the field in an junior league game, but I also know through a lot of research that there just isn't another game that comes anywhere near as close as PB does to the real thing when it comes to managing. With complete rosters that stay with you, to drafting, to trading, to playing the games batter by batter - NOTHING exists on the net. If it weren't for PB, then I wouldn't be playing anything else - that is why I will support Mike and hope things get better.
Everything is relative. The way I look at it is that all the managers control their own finances. Mike is not forcing anyone to pay for the game. Everyone understands that service is down right now and that Mike is not going to be able to turn it around quickly in the short run. So you can either continue to pay, or quit. The only people wearing rose coloured glasses are the ones who walk into a McDonald's, throw down they money, and expect their cheeseburger to taste like steak. PB is $10 a month. For a measly $10 a month I can wait until the bugs and everything else is ironed out. If it were $40 a month, I too might be more vocal, but as far as I see it, even with all the problems PB is still very much worth my $10.
