Brian, I have no problem with someone trading talent for futures in an attempt to rebuild. This is, in my estimation, sound baseball managing and does not constitute tanking. However, when you intentionally bury your best players in the minors, players that might give you a shot at the play-offs, in an attempt to increase your chances at an impact rookie, say a J.D. Drew, thats tanking. And in my humble estimation-- it sucks!
