In the sim environment, I don' see any reason why someone would field a less-than-best lineup. In MLB, you may play young guys to develop them, but that doesn't help them here. I tend to think that any manager who doesn't play their best team possible at all times (except, I suppose, using a player or two for sentimental reasons) is guilty of tanking it.
