Dave,

The game crashes have EVERYTHING to do with the PB software, and absolutely nothing to do with our ISP's. The game does not communicate over the internet after it has downloaded all the game info, and it doesn't need a connection again until the game is final.

"Locked up" memory isn't a likely cause either (unless you have a seriously old computer). Most users now have at least 128MB of RAM, most with 256MB, and some even more 512+ MB (like yourself and I do as well). Point being, that this game was designed back when Win95 was new and most computers were running 32-64MB of RAM. When running, it actually takes very little resources from your operating system (when it doesn't crash). With 512MB of available system memory, I've run the game in the past with a CDR being burned, 8 browser windows opened, ICQ, MSN messenger, AOL IM, Outlook, McAfee firewall, McAfee virus scan, popup killers, etc etc all running and it does just fine. Other times, I've run it with everything shutdown except for the require windows apps (systray/explorer) and have had 90+% of my system resources available, but the game would still crash when there are alot of lineup changes.

Mike, Dwight (when he was still around) and others, have all told me in various emails that the current PB game does seem to have a memory leak bug and that seems to be the problem that some of us are having on occasion.

It's not your ISP, and it's not background programs (unless you have a Win95 machine with 32MB of RAM, hehe).
