A very bad call
I'm not in your league, but just went to check-out the situation with an unbiased eye. Your compliant is more than valid:
1) Both managers are experienced, active and leading their divisions. They don't need the commish to protect them.
2) Fox is rated much higher than Burkett in PBV, 3.4 to 2.5. If PBV means anything, Fox is more valuable now and is younger.
3) Burkett had but one good year since I don't remember when. He may be done: ERA in August is 11.29! Maybe the trade should have been blocked to protect you from getting such a bum for a starting SS!!!
3) Rowand is now a starting CF. He's the only guy involved with much upside. Next year, he could hit .300 with SBs and good defense.
4) Fox has a role. .370 OBP for a SS vs. RH pitching, and his new owner has a decent platoon option. Burkett for Fox was a good, smart trade for him.
5) In my mind (I like Cookie Dough), Fox for Burkett was questionable at best. Fox and Rowand was a terrible trade. If any should be blocked, it would be that one.
6) Same as #1, but worth saying again. These owners are big boys. Let them play!
