The Catcher's subjective rating currently only affects bunt defense and tag plays. The original concept was to have an experienced catcher make a more of a difference in the game, but this is an area where comparative statistics are few and difficult to apply in a SIM.
As the game continues to develop, we will find a way to take into account the catcher's profound effect ( but difficult to simulate)on the club.
