Spring FA & PB value
1) Make the FA draft similar to the rookie draft
Rebuilding teams still have a pretty rough go of it...at least the very weakest teams. Usually there are one or 2 top guys in the FA draft and then it drops off considerably. Those guys shouldn't go to the best team.
It shouldn't, but it always makes you wonder when the random FA draft order comes out and the top teams have high picks. Cut out the possibility of anyone feeling they weren't treated fairly.
2) Re-instituting a meaningful PB cap is overdue. It is frustrating to build a team and then have to cut to 27 players for the FA draft meaning you have to chose between a promising rookie and a solid performer if you have a strong team. It is necessary though to keep everyone with a legitimate shot to win. Building a strong team is part skill but a lot luck. Injuries, poor seasons, surprise stars, all play a roll. With a strong team you have a lot of options and it is easier to get even stronger. The PB cap and 27 man roster cut help make it tougher to stay on top. It should be tough.
