Lower down on this board there is a discussion of Larry walker playing secondbase and Parch brings up the point that some LF are rated 7.5 ODR with a paltry 1.0 ODR in RF.
The reason, of course is that the game rates players at every position they actually play during a season, and denegratres poor play as well as infrequent play at a given position.
Our intention in the future is to compare player's " earned" ratings and "converted" ratings and give them the best of the two.
Look for this change in time, although it is not currently high on our list of priorities.
