Your proposed solution sounds great.

While waiting for that upgrade though it would
be nice if unowned teams could have robot games
simulated early (if this is possible). This way
the only robot games played on tuesday would be
the owned teams that didn't get played that week
thereby allowing roster moves to be freed up earlier
on Tuesday.
