What evidence do you have that Bonds is a "Sulky,self-centered whiner" ? Because he told some a$$hole photographer to stop stepping on his son during the postgame interviews ? Because a few writers who don't like him took the opportunity to bash Bonds one more time ? From what I've read in more objective articles (Jim Caple at ESPN) Bonds wasn't very happy but behaved just fine towards a group of people who've treated him terribly, were asking inane questions (How does it feel,Barry ?" "Just freakin' great" What do they expect him to say ? What would any of us say ?) moments after a crushing defeat ?
Because he doesn't like the media doesn't mean he hates everyone and is a total jerk, it just means that he has antagonized a group of people who have the ability to portray him any way they'd like in order to get even .
Steve Garvey kissed the medias butt his entire career and got great press. In light of what came out afterwards to you still think he's the All-American boy ? Caveat emptor.
