Hey Fred...

As I stated earlier in regard to Bonds I don't think he gives anyone else any thought, so I won't give him the time of day. No, not kind on my part, but I don't like the man. My comments on him are through observations and from hearing things from his own mouth.

In regard to my comments in regard to you never having rebuilt a team: where is the personal attack in that? I didn't call into question your personality or attack you yourself at all. I made the statement that I didn't think you understood what it was like to own a miserable team, try your hardest, and still be tagged as having "tanked" by your rule. And I did discus the merits back and forth if you read the thread again. I tried to point out the situation of lower PB teams, I also pointed out how higher PB teams would be affected incorrectly (winning the championship but tagged as a "tanking" team), and tried to discuss how PB value is not set up right. Every time I did so, I believe someone else accused me of thinking only about my team and only about winning (despite me saying 2 or 3 times that that had nothing to do with the argument).

As for your statement in regard to my team and how I would answer questions in regard my dismall season you are completely wrong. I have three character witnesses who also play PB here in W9 who would tell you that I don't care if I win any game I play. I play to win - yes - but I mostly play for the comraderie.

It is interesting you should say that because Mike and I were in discussion just yesterday about the league.

If I may post an email I sent to the commish just yesterday:

A lot of fun this year... next year should be better as I will start to draft older more veteran players now. Next year should place me in the middle of the pack, but 2004 will be great if everything keeps on track. With Ward, Wells, Suzuki, Hunter, and Marrero in the field, Phelps, Kennedy, Gonzales in the IF, I only need to solidify 3B, catcher and my starting corps. Johnson and Weaver will anchor the starting staff, and Alfonseca and Koch will close out games. My team is still a little to young, with most players having only 200 or so at bats - but I think most of them earned a shot at 560 at bats next year. I'm really looking forward to 2003!!

Enjoy the off season ;)

W9 - Port Huron

As you can see, no venom there.

I'm not here to only win, as most seem to be. I am here to play baseball and enjoy the game. I don't care if I finish first, last, third - sure, winning would be great, but it isn't the be all end all. I joined PB because there was a friend playing in the league. We used to play face to face and I missed that. Now there are four people from our face to face league playing in W9 and it is great! When we get together we talk about W9 and baseball in general. It is a fun time. That is why I play. So you are not correct in your assessment as to how I would react.

And you know... I saw several interviews after the game with Giant players - and while they all were a bit down, only Barry was surly.
