Actually, the game specifically tells you to do just what we discussed if it can't upload the results. It's not a "trick" by any means.

In fact, I just confirmed it by running through a demo game and disconnected my cable modem mid-game. After the game, it asked to upload my results and when it could not:

"Failed to report results.
Log onto the internet. When you are connected click ok. If you cannot get connected then select "cancel". Try again later by double clicking on the Purebaseball icon in your RsiBB folder."

So, as I was saying....the game specifically instructs you how to do this in the event that you lose your connection while playing or uploading results. There is no reason for a reset in these instances.
