Yeah, I had posted the original comment before doing an in-depth study of the players that would be available in our league.

Even after doing that, you can still see that (for most teams) there will only be 2 good rounds of drafting (as I theorized in my original post).

I think the discussion whether or not to do serpentine is the fact that the worst teams are going to get a top shelf stud, plus 2 servicable players (beginning or end of 2nd round, plus beginning of 3rd round)...and the best teams are going to get either one good player and one that might get dropped (non-serp.) or two good players (serpentine).

I think with either method, the bad teams will end up keeping 3 rounds worth of picks and to do serpentine or not doesn't really have a significant impact on them because they'll have plenty of openings. Not so with the good teams because the players at the bottom of barrel of the 2nd round (if we do non-serp. draft) might end up getting dropped, but if you give them 2 good players (end of 1st, beginning of 2nd round) then they will likely end up with 2 players than they had before (which is more fair IMO since weak teams will likely keep AT LEAST 3 players..maybe more).

Either way, I think it's going to put some life back in these leagues...I just hope we get a decision on the method and player pool sooner than later.
