RE: Jon
Yes Jon, we both agree that the contraction draft will spice up the league to some degree. I quess we quibble over how spiced we want it to get. I lean toward bringing the bottom up and you lean toward a more balanced draft. Seems like most of the input has been in favor of dropping the Serpentine draft. In my particular case, sitting in the middle either way is fine by me. Lets hash it out, make a decision and move on toward contraction. There is some New York Yankees (real-life) domination in these leagues apparently and many owners may see this as a way to level the playing field so to speak. It may make it easier for some lower teams to climb but I'm all for having 2 or 3 teams in each division battling the last few weeks of the season as opposed to crowning division champs just after the mid-point in the year. That lets all participate with the chance to advance over the full course of a season as opposed to a few teams running out the string until the postseason. It will help eliminate dumping or tanking and keep managers in there plugging away which is the whole point isn't it. So let's contract, spread some talent around and start gearing up for a new year. Spring Training is only 8 weeks away! Have a good one Jon...you are an enthusiastic owner with valid comments that are always appreciated even if we may not always agree on the issues.
