Disagree with Jon
Jon makes the point that he spends hundreds of hours scouting talent, makes lots of trades, and actively researches players and other owners weaknesses. That seems to work well for you! There are other managers who either don't have that much time to invest or don't take it that seriously but are still committed and participating players. To suggest that unless we follow your example we are undeserving of winning is just nonsense. No one deserves to win, it is NOT guaranteed. Why don't we want parity? Why don't we want suspense when two teams play a series? Why don't we want end-of-season playoff runs? Winning is the ultimate destination but having fun along the way is a big part of it too. You are right when you say that weaker teams, even if compensated now with several good players in the contraction draft, have to go out and perform and continue to improve. I quess I would rather see Division Titles won by 5 or 10 game margins as opposed to 25 or 35 game margins.
