Why good teams win
Well said Jon! I don't know who you are but it is nice to hear a successful manager acknowledge the role of effort in being successful. As one other manager pointed out, no one deserves to win simply because of effort but spending time on your team definitely helps. Besides spensing time on trading and drafting I wanted to mention one more thing. I spend time every week scouting my next opponent and adjusting my roster, lineups, and robot instructions (if away) to get me the best matchups possible. I do this every week for every team (three in all). I realize that not everyone is able to or even wants to put in that kind of time but I believe this has been a big facter in my success. Lastly, I never let the robot play my home games if at all possible. I think the robot is a very weak manager. This is not a complaint, it is equally weak for all teams. If you don't take the time to manage your home games you are giving away that advantage. All three of my teams won over 100 games this season and one one the league title. As Branch Rickey once said "Luck is the residue of design." From your comments Jon I am willing to bet you would be a worthy opponent.
