Another view - is it level yet?

What we need is active managers like yourself who make the league the fun it is...so don't think my comments are meant as personal ones, just comments on how to improve the game.

That said:

I think a little of your message is misleading.

The Western Storm team is one you took over when it was "one of the best teams" I've (me this time) ever seen assembled and had a huge lead when the previous owner of the Storm took over the Arrows and with some shrewd trades quickly turned the Arrows into "the best team" ever assembled.

That 13 game lead is left over from a time when it looked like Ontario had no shot at the playoffs to where they now look like a favorite to win it all, considering they have 5 of the top 6 hitters in the league (at least 4 of whom were picked up after Ontario got its new owner).

I think the series of trades used to build up Ontario is a case in point for "won't say it could affect my trading chances"'s comments.

I don't have the answer but sure do support stronger involvment by the COMMISH in overseeing trades, particularly where superstars are traded and even more particularly where the same star is later traded back to his original team in a later trade between the same teams.

I've had trades rejected involving guys where none of the players involved would survive a roster cut to 27, yet apparently Barry Bonds and Randy Johnson can be traded for 2 #1 rookie picks if you know how to manipulate the trades.

Don't get me wrong, I think the COMMISH tries hard to be fair; but it takes a lot of time to evaluate all the trades and trade ramifications; and let's face it, we ALL try to make trades that will give us the best team. We need the COMMISH to keep the playing field as level as he can.

I do think the COMMISH needs to concentrate his trade approval efforts on trades involving superstars.

It isn't all just good management of your team lineup.
