Real Gutsy Anonymous Post

Thanks for the courageous anonymous post slamming a possibly debatable but clearly justifiable trade. In Rolen I get one of the better third basemen in baseball, who is 27 in 2002. I didn't like giving up Green, but it is a lot easier to replace a right fielder with pop than it is a third baseman because there aren't that many young, good-hitting third basemen around. The biggest worry with Rolen is his durability or lack thereof.
Other than Green, I gave up Huff, who showed some pop but has a very low OBP. A thirty-year-old catcher is always a risk, but again you have position scarcity to consider.
I also got some players who, at worst, will fill positions as I rebuild, and a couple of potentially useful pitchers.
I realize not everyone would have done this deal, but I scarcely think it is so rotten as to be used as an example, especially given some of the other trades that are made.
