Carlos Hernandez is a perfect example Tim.
I did save him for you, and it worked as expected. He had a 0.38 ERA, 4 games started, 23.7 IP, with a 3-0 record. He had a 1.02 ERA in real life, so his stats against your team mirrored reality. That's how it should be. It only makes sense to save your low usage studs for the best teams in the league, it's good management. Using the playoff minimum PA/IP rule during the regular season wouldn't be realistic at all.
Even though he was dominate in his limited appearances, I think it further illustrates your point that looking at the whole 160 game season, those games that I used him did not make an impact on the outcome of our season. You still had the #1 seed and those losses didn't impact that at all. I won the wildcard and those wins from him didn't help there either.
