The change to hold up start of game is probably easier than messing with the actual game at this time.
I wil take this suggestion ino consideration---it would force the robot player (John Meredith at this time) to make a roster move to accomodate the start of the game but would make sense.

If this is withinour grasp in terms of resources we might also check the teams for representative pitching and add pitchers before game fails rather than after it has.
