I agree about the warning signs. Tender elbow all through the minors. Shut down for the last month of the 1998 season. Other young pitchers (Alan Benes, Chris Holt, Matt Morris, etc...) getting hurt the season after their first big-innings MLB season. Still, he's a horse-in-waiting if he makes it back. But the signs were posted by other young pitchers before Wood ever pitched a major league inning.
