RT Contraction - Screw Parity
My question about contraction in 2000RT1 has nothing to do with a desire for greater parity. My team has made the playoffs in each of its three seasons and I just won my first championship. My team has gotten BETTER each season despite having low picks in the rookie, FA, and monthly FA drafts. If I was able to improve each year, the teams with better picks had the chance to improve that much more and narrow the gap. I can’t speak for the TRAD leagues, but I see no need for greater parity in RT leagues.
I’m asking about contraction for one reason and one reason only – unmanaged teams. We have to get rid of them. I acted as assistant commish last year, making roster moves and so on, and I’d rather not have to do it again.
The other option, of course, is to bring new managers into the league. If that happens, great! I’d rather see a 24-team league with 24 active managers. If that’s not possible though, I’d rather see a 20 team league with as many managers as possible.

PS – There’s at least one really interesting unmanaged team still available in 2000RT1. The Edmonton Dominators have a very potent offence anchored by Jim Thome, Shwan Green, Chipper Jones, Jimmy Rollins, Charles Johnson and Carlos Guillen. Pick ‘em up while you still have the chance and see if you can’t re-build their pitching staff.
