History

In the rookie draft held in 2000 people were vying for the top pick like mad. The player who was picked highest on average was Rick Ankiel. The consolation prizes were Hudson, Benson & Garcia. One consistent stud out of four. In 1999 the second highest pick was Kerry wood and the only reason he wasn't #1 over J.D.Drew was because they announced he was having surgery THE MORNING OF THE DRAFT !!! If you were quick enough to change your picks to the next 2 highest ranked pitchers you got Rolando Arrojo or El Duque.
Zito from the 2001 draft has been great but the #2 pitcher Adam Eaton has been as painful to own as the injuries have been for him. It's too early to pass judgment on last years guys but the evidence supports the TINSTAAPP theory. (There Is No Such Thing As A Pitching Prospect)
