I don't know if hardcore leagues as you describe would work or not.. but I also would be very interested to know how different leagues would vote on the matter and how each would actually pan out in practice. Ideas like this.. that don't require extra programming and time from the commish should be experimented with. I'd be willing to let one of my leagues go "hardcore" to try it out.
